CINP Research Fellowships 2026

Applications for the CINP Research Fellowships are now open!

The CINP Early Careers Committee is pleased to announce the CINP Research Fellowships 2026, aimed at supporting early-career researchers and clinicians working in the field of neuropsychopharmacology.

If this program is not directly relevant to you, we would be delighted if you could help us spread the word and share the information with your early-career colleagues.

Theme: Neuropsychopharmacology of Addiction and Substance Use

This year’s theme focuses on the neuropsychopharmacology of addiction and substance use, exploring cutting-edge research and clinical perspectives that advance our understanding of substance use disorders. The programme will highlight innovative pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches, emerging therapeutic strategies, and ongoing scientific debates shaping the field.

The programme includes online teaching modules with top researchers in their fields as well as an in-person colloquium that will take place immediately before the 37th CINP World Congress in Glasgow, UK, on 26th June 2026.

The online teaching modules include:
  • Brain and addiction: disease model or learning model
    Tristan McClure-Begley (USA) - 7th April 2026 at 2 p.m. GMT

  • Psychedelics in psychiatry: emerging evidence and clinical debates
    Gabriella Gobbi (Canada) - 22nd April 2026 at 1 p.m. GMT

  • Advances in non-pharmacological intervention in substance use disorder
    Diana M. Martinez (USA) - 24th April 2026 at 1 p.m. GMT

  • Precision medicine approaches in optimizing alcohol use disorder treatment
    Ming-Chyi Huang (Taiwan) - 7th May 2026 at 1 p.m. GMT

The in-person colloquium will include discussions on presentations from the participants on their research projects for feedback from CINP faculty and other participants and will be followed by an interactive career development discussion over lunch.

Gabriella Gobbi (Canada), Hillary Blumberg (USA),  Asilay Seker (UK), and members of the CINP Early Careers Committee will participate in the in-person colloquium.

Check out information about the 1st edition of the CINP Research Fellowship for Early Careers for reference.

Participants who successfully complete the full programme will be awarded with ‘CINP Research Fellow’ certificates.

There is no charge to participate in the Research Fellowship Programme, though participants will need to make their own arrangements for accommodation and travel to participate in the in-person component.

It is highly recommended that the participants attend the CINP 2026 congress. There is a significant discount on registration fee offered to early career participants.
